Lungi Ngidi Led His Team To Win Against England In T20

England’s Tour To South Africa

Presently The England team is on a tour of South Africa from December 2019 to February 2020. This tour includes three ODIs, three T20Is, and four Test matches between the teams. The Test series formed part of the ICC World Test Championship 2019- 2021. South Africa confirmed the matches for the tour in May.

England won three out of the four Tests. And in the ODI series, each team won one match, the 2nd ODI got abandoned because of rain. South Africa beat England in the first ODI by 7 wickets. And England won the 3rd ODI by 2 wickets.

Lungi Ngidi Led His Team To Victory

The first T20 match of the tour was held on February 12 at Buffalo Park, East London. Lungi Ngidi who is the fast-bowler of South Africa, helped his team to snatch the victory from England by one run. He took three wickets in his last two overs.

England skipper Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy made half-centuries for their team and they played well on their way to chase down South Africa’s total score of 177. But the match changed in a thrilling manner during the last three overs when England lost six wickets for 24 runs and finished their inning at 176-9.

They needed just seven runs to win in the last over but Ngidi took the wicket of Moeen Ali and Tom Curran while submitting only five runs.

Lungi Ngidi Past Records

Lungi Ngidi is the key player in South Africa’s bowling attack. He has an economy rate of 5.63 and 6.58 in ODIs and T20Is respectively. He plays for Chennai Super King in IPL and his economy rate in IPL is 6.0. But he missed the IPL in 2019 because of side strain injury.

The next T20 match between the two teams will be held on 14th February at Kingsmead and both the teams are all set to give tough competition to each other.
