Let India Win World Cup Even If I Die – Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh Is Still Regarded As One Of The Best Hard-Hitting Indian Batsmen:

Yuvraj Singh is already rated one of the greatest hard-hitting Indian batsmen a year after he retires. For his ability to smash huge sixes, the left-handed batsmen created a reputation for himself, scoring fast hundreds.

He also developed a reputation as a match-winner for India, a talent he showed in World Cup 2011. Yuvraj displayed his best tournament results, both with bat and ball, and after India beat Sri Lanka to win the trophy, the Punjab cricketer was awarded the trophy man of the match.

One of his strongest innings in the 2011 World Cup came on March 20 in a Group Stage game against West Indies. Yuvraj began developing a relationship with Virat Kohli after India lost a few fast wickets early on, with both Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir getting cashed out cheaply. The pair added 122 runs to the third-wicket, before dismissing Kohli for 59. Yet Yuvraj went on.

It was a weak wicket for Chennai, and the runs were challenging to get out. In fact, he began feeling unwell to add to Yuvraj’s worries. The left-hander vomited on the mound numerous occasions and appeared clearly ill.

I First Thought It Was Because Of The Chennai Heat – Yuvraj Singh:

Later, Yuvraj had said in an interview in 2014: “I first felt it was because of the heat of Chennai. I’ve always desired a hundredth World Cup, but never occurred since I batted at six. But Viru wanted to opt-out of the World Cup, so I decided to make it high. I prayed to God to let India win the World Cup, whatever happens, even though I did later. ‘

Yuvraj went on to score his maiden World Cup hundred in the match, scoring 113 runs in 123 balls at a strike rate of 91.86 with 10 fours and 2 sixes. Supported by its actions, India posted a respectable total of 268 until a failure in the powerplay overs caused a lower-order failure, finishing India’s innings.

Yuvraj wasn’t done for the day, however. He went on to bowl throughout the innings of West Indies and picked up two wickets from Devon Thomas and the unpredictable Andre Russell in his four overs. He ended the day with 18 runs in his four overs for 2 wickets. Yuvraj had been called the man of the match for his impressive success under pressure.
