He sparked a late scoring rush, where the last three wickets contributed more than one-third of New Zealand’s first innings 348. His performance in the Test was so huge that the skipper of his team, Kane Williamson gave special praise to the player.

In the post-match presentation, the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson stated that Kyle was brilliant on his debut, he has come and made valuable contributions in the Tests throughout the summer. It was a great debut for Kyle as he contributed in a number of ways in the test match.

The India skipper Virat Kohli also agreed that the late-order batting of Jamieson, Colin de Grandhomme Trent Boult, and Ajaz Patel played a major role in the match as New Zealand settled a crucial score of 183 in first innings.
