Kishan and Iyer likely to lose Central Contract
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are set to suffer consequences for disobeying the BCCI’s order to give domestic cricket priority over the IPL. Both players have chosen not to participate in the current Ranji Trophy season, putting their central contracts in danger, despite cautions from BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.

In the latest updates, it is reported that their names are allegedly missing from the list of centrally contracted players for the 2023–24 season by the Ajit Agarkar–led selection committee. Their absence makes one wonder if they will still be on the Indian team in the future.
In order to be eligible for central contracts and to be selected for the national squad, their return will depend on how they handle this problem and the option left with them would be to show that they are dedicated to playing domestic cricket going forward.
