IPL 2021: The league has been suspended
On Monday, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier from the Kolkata Knight Riders’ squad got tested positive for Coronavirus. On Tuesday, there were multiple reports suggesting the CSK’s Laxmipati Balaji and SRH’s Wriddhiman Saha also got tested positive for COVID-19.
BCCI have finally decided to push the league until they find a firm solution to it. There were reports suggesting that BCCI is planning to shift the entire league in Mumbai in the coming weekend. All the games will be played in the same city. However, the news is not yet confirmed.
IPL 2021: What will BCCI do next?
All the players were under the bio-bubble and there is a high risk that other’s might also test positive for COVID-19 soon. Last week, 3 Australian players pulled out of the tournament and returned to their respective country. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also left the Delhi Capitals’ squad to support his family member, who was tested positive for COVID-19.
