Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir retired from all formats of international cricket on Thursday, December 17. Referring to his decision, Amir blamed Pakistan’s Cricket Board for mentally torturing him. 28-year-old Amir made his debut for Pakistan in 2009 and has featured in a total of 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 49 T20Is. The southpaw also played for the Galle Gladiators in the recently conducted Lanka Premier League 2020. Amir’s side reached the finals of the competition but was bested by Jaffna Stallions in the decisive stage.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan penned down a tweet citing Amir’s retirement. Pathan, in his tweet, spoke well of Amir and stated that the speedster still has a lot of cricket left in him. 36-year-old Irfan Pathan recently went head-to-head against Amir while playing for Kandy Tuskers in LPL 2020 season. The Indian superstar further wished Amir good luck for his future.
