IPL 2022: Week Five Review-Top 10 Batsmen

The pitch curators have a task at their hands with the wear and tear of the pitches. Batters are now finding it difficult to start striking from ball one. The best of the batters have found ways to keep the scoreboard ticking. There were several fantastic innings that were played this week. Here is the list of IPL 2022 Top 10 Batsmen in a week.

We Look At The IPL 2022: Top 10 Batsmen At The End of Week Five:

#10 Deepak Hooda (279)

LSG’s faith in Deepak Hooda seems to be paying off fantastically well. The big-hitting Hooda has been given the responsibility of batting in the top order for LSG. He has amassed 279 runs in 10 games so far at an average of 27.90. He might need to ramp up his current strike rate of 131.60 though.

#9 Shreyas Iyer (290)

KKR’s captain, Shreyas Iyer, has dropped two spots in the batting charts this week. Iyer has scored 290 runs in 9 games at an average of 36.25 with a strike rate of 137.44. KKR would ideally want more from their captain though.

#8 Suryakumar Yadav (290)

Mumbai’s biggest middle-order bet has jumped up a spot to number 8 this week. He has scored 290 runs in 7 games so far. His average of 48.33 is outstanding coupled with his strike rate of 147.20. Suryakumar Yadav is one of India’s best in T20Is.

#7 Quinton De Kock (294)

The diminutive wicket-keeper has re-entered the batting charts. Opening the batting for LSG, Quinton De Kock has scored 294 runs in 10 games at an average of 29.40. His strike rate of 134.24 for an opener is adequate. De Kock and KL Rahul have been absolutely solid for LSG at the top.

#6 Shikhar Dhawan (307)

The underrated IPL legend is sixth on the charts at the end of week five. He has scored 307 runs so far at an average of 38.38. His strike rate of 126.33 though is the lowest among batters on this list.

#5 Tilak Varma (307)

The U-19 batsman became the first Mumbai player to score 300 runs this season. Tilak Varma has been a bright spark for an otherwise dull season. He has scored 307 runs in 9 games at an average of 43.86 with a strike rate of 137.05.

#4 Hardik Pandya (308)

There is something about Gujarat Titans. They seem to be doing something right almost always. Leading the charge is their captain, Hardik Pandya. He has scored 308 runs so far at an average of 51.33 with a strike rate of 135.68.

#3 Abhishek Sharma (324)

Who would have thought that Abhishek Sharma will be among the top-3 batsmen in IPL 2022? The SRH opener has scored 324 runs so far in 9 games. He averages 36 with the bat at a strike rate of 134.43.

#2 KL Rahul (451)
