IPL 2022: Rohit Sharma Takes ‘Full Responsibility’ After Mumbai Indians Six Consecutive Losses!

Rohit Sharma Takes Full Responsibility

The Mumbai Indians (MI) disappointing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season extended on April 16 with an 18-run setback to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mumbai’s – Brabourne Stadium. It was indeed MI’s 6th consecutive loss in this campaign, and they have yet to earn their first victory. Here is why Rohit Sharma Takes Full Responsibility After Mumbai Indians Six Consecutive Losses.

Much disappointed Rohit Sharma accepted “all responsibility” for the Mumbai Indians’ poor IPL season following six straight defeats, stating he is at a loss as to what course correction is required to bring them back in shape. Captain Rohit has had a horrible campaign, scoring only 114 runs in 6 games with the best score of 41.

“Hard to point out one particular situation, when you are chasing a total we need big partnerships, something we failed to do today. There’s no particular reason to it, we try and put team before the individual,” Rohit said.

We are trying to understand what our right combination: Rohit Sharma

Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma put up a 64-run combination for the 4th wicket after Mumbai’s desperate hunt for 200. After the tandem was removed, the batsmen that came after them were unable to step up to the challenge, and the previous champions were limited to 181/9 notwithstanding late smashes from Kieron Pollard, who struck 25 runs off 14 balls. Unfortunately, the Mumbai Indians have been unable to meet the lofty mark.

“We lost six games now. We are trying to understand what our right combination is, but it all depends on the opposition that we play. When you lose games it is very easy to point out that changes are being made but we try and go with our best XI,” he added.

“I take the full responsibility for not putting the team in the situation of what they expect from me. I back myself to go out there and enjoy the game and doing what I have been doing all these years. It’s important to keep looking forward. It’s not the end of the world, we have come back before and we will try and come back again,” the six-time IPL winner further added.
