#1 KL Rahul vs Mohammad Shami
It was Mohammad Shami who dismissed KL Rahul for a golden duck when the last time these two sides last met. Shami’s delivery remains one of the tournament highlights. Rahul has already had two golden ducks to his name this season. He was out for a diamond duck too in the last game. Rahul will be keen to impose himself in this rematch. He is someone who once gets going keeps going right till the end. Gujarat will be wary of the Rahul threat. Shami will eye an encore against classy Rahul.
#2 Deepak Hooda vs Rashid Khan
LSG showed a great amount of faith when they asked Deepak Hooda to bat at number 3. Hooda has taken this opportunity with both hands. He has been brilliant at number 3 for LSG. Hooda has been the perfect foil to the openers. He has batted deep into the innings setting up the base for the finishers. Hooda will have the Rashid Khan challenge him in this game. The afghan magician is yet to deliver a knockout performance with the ball. This might just be the game where he shows all his tricks.
#3 Hardik Pandya vs Mohsin Khan
It has not been easy for any batsman to front up to Mohsin Khan. The tall left-arm seamer has caught most batsmen napping. His early burst with the new ball has often ended the opposition’s challenge. He has got bounce, seam, pace, and swing. Khan will pose some difficult questions to Hardik Pandya. The Gujarat skipper has slipped from the radar a little in the last few games. Pandya is the fulcrum of Gujarat’s batting. The team needs its skipper to front up to this challenge. It will be a superb contest.
#4 David Miller vs Ravi Bishnoi
It was David Miller who had shepherded Gujarat’s run-chase against LSG. He put all his experience to good effect. Miller guided his team home in a tricky run-chase. He has been effective if not spectacular this season. Miller apart from the game against Mumbai where he failed to take his side home CSK has largely been good. He singlehandedly took Gujarat over the line in the game against CSK. Miller will be up against Ravi Bishnoi. The diminutive wrist-spinner will test Miller. Expect a fine contest.
