IPL 2021: Reasons Behind CSK’s Strong Form This Season

Chennai Super Kings looks like a totally different team compared to what they were just 6 months back. The same team which was seen struggling in the UAE is currently sitting on the top of this year’s points table with the best net run rate. With their Wednesday night win against Kolkata Knight Riders, they have now won 3 consecutive games out of the four played so far.

Let’s find the reasons behind their strong comeback in the league.

Moeen Ali:
MS Dhoni is making the optimum use of the English all-rounder. Ali is batting at no. 3 and is also bowling some crucial overs in the middle of the game. With Ali, CSK have got a free pass to play carefree cricket in the middle overs.
Back to the hub:
Last season was the only time when CSK failed to make it to a playoff. The reason behind this might be the tournament being held overseas and not in India. Now that IPL is back in India, MS Dhoni seems to have got his mojo back.
Return of Suresh Raina:
Suresh Raina missed the entire IPL 2020 season due to some personal reasons. With the return of Chinna Thala, CSK seems to have got their confidence back. Raina’s presence in the team assures a reliable batsman in the two down position who can set the tone of the game as per the situation.
Strong batting line up:
CSK are playing with 10 batsmen in their starting 11. Tailenders Dwayne Bravo, Sam Curran and Shardul Thakur can also go big with their bat. All-rounders Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja are proven big hitters. Csk’s batsmen are playing fearless and entertaining cricket because of the strong depth in their batting line-up.
