The Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020, which was conducted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was an out and out success. The latest edition saw no fans in the stadium amid the ramifications caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. However, the league turned out to be massive prosperity as BCCI earned a total of 4,000 crores from the Indian top-tier league. IPL was one of the most watched events during the pandemic and its staggering viewership made the cricketing tournament one of the most celebrated affairs this year.

The BCCI did a commendable job battling the COVID-19 mayhem during the three months of the Indian Premier League’s play. Interestingly, the IPL managed to beat COVID-19 on internet platforms as well. According to the annual Google Year in Search 2020 list, the keyword IPL is the most-searched word in India on Google for the year 2020. Coronavirus, US elections are next in the list after the abbreviation of India’s biggest cricketing league.

The success of the Indian Premier League 2020 can be directly related to the lockdown implied by various states in India. People were locked inside their houses maintaining the social-distancing norms. The high-end league which consists of the biggest cricketing names around the world was the only source of entertainment for the fans of cricket. As per reports, IPL 2020 also broke many viewership records considering its massive fan base.
