Indian Cricketers And Their Qualifications

Cricket is a religion in India. Fans adore and worship Indian cricketers. They are loved across all quarters. Cricketers are considered role models. Aspiring young kids look up to cricketers for inspiration, lets see some Indian Cricketers And Their Qualifications.

Indian cricketers are not just expected to excel on the field. But they are also expected to showcase fantastic behaviour off-field too. The fans’ fascination is quite high. To an extent that they even want to know the educational qualifications of their favourite cricketers.

We look at the educational qualifications of a few Indian cricketers:

#10 Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble was one of India’s biggest match-winners. He is one of the finest gentlemen the game has seen. Anil Kumble completed his graduation with B.E in Mechanical Engineering from RV College of Engineering.

#9 Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly was the captain who transformed the Indian unit. He instilled the belief that the team can win anywhere. Ganguly has seen everything as a cricketer and even now as an administrator. He is the current BCCI president. Ganguly completed his graduation from St. Xaviers College of Kolkata.

#8 VVS Laxman

He was rightly referred to as being a very very special cricketer. Laxman was India’s crisis man. His epic knock of 281 at Eden against Australia remains the greatest ever Test knock.

VVS Laxman did his schooling at Little Flower High School, Hyderabad. He wanted to pursue medical science but couldn’t continue owing to his cricketing passion.

#7 Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has always been known as a deep thinker about the game. His cricketing logic stems strongly from his cricketing knowledge. It isn’t a surprise that Ashwin is a highly educated cricketer. He holds a B. Tech degree in Information and Technology from Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering.

#6 Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant became the quickest Indian wicket-keeper to complete 100 Test dismissals. He reached the feat in 26 Tests. Pant is one of the most promising talents in world cricket.

He completed his schooling in The Indian Public School, Dehradun, and studied his graduation at Venkateswara College, Delhi University, New Delhi.

#5 Rahul Dravid

There can’t be a nicer guy in cricket than Rahul Dravid. He was one of the most respected cricketers. Dravid has continued his nice guy persona even when he became a coach. Hence fans are always curious to know from where and what did he specialize in studies. 

Dravid completed his schooling at St. Joseph School. He pursued did his graduation in commerce from St, Joseph College in Bangalore. Dravid was studying his MBA from St, Joseph College of Business Administration when he received a call to represent the Indian team.

#4 Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma self admittedly was way more focused on cricket as compared to education. He completed his schooling at Our Lady of Vailankanni High School. Sharma later received a scholarship and he joined Swami Vivekananda School. But he couldn’t continue his education post his schooling.

#3 MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s life has seen a meteoric rise. He is an inspiration for a billion Indians. Dhoni’s growth is an example for all those who dare to dream big despite all odds. Despite so much media coverage on him, Dhoni has managed to keep his life and lifestyle private. Not many are aware of the fact that he is a B.Comm graduate.

#2 Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is the most popular cricketer in the world. He is a force of nature. Kohli completed his schooling at Vishal Bharti Public School and later shifted to Saviour Convent in order to improve his game. Kohli, unfortunately, couldn’t complete his college though.

#1 Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the greatest cricketer of all time. He is the only batsman to have scored 100 centuries across formats. Tendulkar is one of those rare cricketers owing to whom the school where he studied got famous. He completed his schooling at Shardashram Vidyamandir.
