India Need Not Be Concerned About Weather Conditions For The England Series: Sunil Gavaskar

After a disappointing performance in the ICC World Test Championship final, Sunil Gavaskar has encouraged the Indian team to perform well in their 2021 England tour. There will be alternatives for Indian batsmen to resist the impact of the new balls, which will be in the hands of Stuart Broad and James Anderson according to the former Indian batsman. let’s discuss The England Series Of India 2021.

The England Series

On previous tours, the English team’s two aged and famous fast bowlers had caused a lot of issues for the Indian batters. In 2011, India was defeated 4-0 in the series. They were defeated 3-1 in 2014. Finally, India was defeated 4-1 in 2018 under the guidance of Virat Kohli. Anderson and Broad were the main destroyers of the Indian batting order in all of these series.

Gavaskar stated that the Indian team does not need to be worried about the weather in England since the sun would be shining by the time the series begins in August-September. The ground at Southampton was particularly wet, and the weather was gloomy, making it exceedingly tough for the batsmen.

Indian batters should not allow Anderson and Broad to take wickets from the new balls: Gavaskar

In addition, the former legend of batting said that if Anderson and Broad are not permitted by Indian batters to take wickets from the new balls, the two of them may fight to collect wickets from them.

“Indian batsmen need not worry about the series against England in August-September as the sun will be out by then and the pitches will be drier and with the greatest of respect, if Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad don’t get wickets in their first spell, they struggle in their next spells,” wrote Gavaskar in his column of The Telegraph.

The Indian batters would be relieved to learn that Broad and Anderson are not in top form heading into this series. In the two-match Test series in early June, both pacers struggled against New Zealand’s batting. The former Indian captain also stated that the team must transform the disappointment of losing in the ICC WTC final into a chance to come back for future endeavors.

“The English summer has begun with disappointment [for India] but when disappointment fuels determination then fortunes can be turned and that’s the attitude this talented team needs to make this a truly Indian summer,” said Gavaskar.
