Indian youngster Washington Sundar has become an overnight sensation with his quality stints for India in Test cricket. After coming up with the goods with his bat in Brisbane against Australia, Sundar racked-up a crucial knock of 85* runs against England in the first innings of the first Test at Chennai.

Sundar came handy for the Indians during their struggling period as the 21-year-old scored his second Test half-century. Earlier this year, Sundar notched up a total of 64 runs against in his debut Test against Australia at Brisbane.
The aspiring all-rounder became only the 8th Indian to score a 50+ score in his debut home and away innings. With this incredible feat, Sundar has matched the likes of Rusi Modi, Surinder Amarnath, Arun Lal, Sourav Ganguly, Suresh Raina, Hardik Pandya and Mayank Agarwal.

Adding to that, Sundar stands second on the list of the Indian players with most runs in their first three-Test innings while batting at no.7. Sundar has gathered a total of 169 runs in his two-match Test career so far. Rahul Dravid is the only cricketer who tops Sundar for most runs for an Indian batsman batting at no.7. Dravid made a total of 179 runs in his first three innings playing at No.7.
