IND vs ENG: 3 Reasons why India won the second Test

A Toss To Win:

Virat Kohli won the crucial toss against Joe Root in the second Test. The toss doesn’t usually favor Virat Kohli, but this time the Indian skipper was on-point with his luck. The pitch at Chepauk saw a huge turn from the first day itself and the pitch was tipped to get worse till the time the game walked into its 4th and 5th day. It was a toss to win and it rightly happened so.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s magic:

The local boy was at his level best as he displayed an all-around performance in the second Test. He was by far the best player in the Indian squad. Ashwin, with his exploits in Chennai, surpassed the likes of Gary Sobers and Jacques Kalis to become the second most successful all-rounder in a test match, behind Ian Gotham.

Rohit Sharma back in form:

Rohit Sharma’s impeccable knock of 161 runs won the game for India in the first innings itself. While the other batsmen were struggling to keep up with the ball, the ‘Hit-man’ of India was gracefully swinging his bat. Rohit helped India get to a decent total in the first innings which played a huge part in their comprehensive win against England.
