IND vs AUS: Virender Sehwag Slams Steve Smith For His “Below The Belt” Act

Against all the odds, the Indian batsmen produced a masterclass at Sydney. Australian bowlers fell on their face in their attempt to get rid of the Indian batsmen on Day 5 of the third Test at Sydney. Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari batted their hearts out while facing the lethal Aussie bowling. An injury-laden Indian side displayed a courageous performance and wrote a new chapter in the history of Test cricket. The draw was a collective effort as each batsman played their part with grace.

However, the Australians made sure to make India’s quest for a draw full of complications. To start with, the Australian fans were all over the Indian players with their racial remarks. The situation became fractious as the alleged racist fans were escorted out of the stadium. Adding to that, Aussie players were one foot ahead in their attempt to make the situation more frustrating and worrisome for the already wounded Indian-side.

IND vs AUS: Steve Smith’s unjustifiable act

Australian batsman Steve Smith was caught on camera for attempting a bizarre act in the gentlemen’s sport. Indian batsmen Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara looked set before the drinks break was called. Rishabh Pant tilted the match towards Indian with his exploits as the Australian bowlers were left without any answers to the southpaw’s intent. Nevertheless, Steve Smith came up with a “below-the-belt” trickery to put a minor dent in Pant’s innings.

Indian legend Virender Sehwag takes a dig at Steve Smith

During the drinks break, Steve Smith walked right into the batting crease and started doing left-handed shadow batting. Anyway, things were not as simple as it seemed to be as fans spotted Smith rubbing his shows over the batting guards marked by 23-year-old Risbah Pant. Rishabh Pant, however, had to mark the batting guards again as soon as he entered the crease after the breaks. The whole incident was captured in the stump cam. Steve Smith was largely criticized for his cheap attempt to tingle with the minds of the Indians.
