IND vs AUS: Ravindra Jadeja Shines Will The Bowl On Day 2 At Sydney

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came up with the goods for India on Day 2 of the 3rd Test against Australia in Sydney. 32-year-old Ravindra Jadeja mustered a figure of 62 for 4 in the first innings, marking his third-best bowling figure in a Test cricket format away from home. Adding to that, Jadeja got rid of danger-man Steve Smith with a pin-point run-out. Steve Smith, who was batting on 131, fell short of the crease as Jadeja’s throw from the square leg managed to hit the stumps first. Jadeja got the bullseye as he helped India end Australia’s first innings for a decent score of 338 runs.

IND vs AUS: Jadeja prospered with the bowl

Ravindra Jadeja, who bowled only 3 overs on Day 1, had a 15-over spell on Day 2. Interestingly, Jadeja attacked the Australians with a couple of yorkers in the second session. The first yorker got the better of tailender Pat Cummins and the second one sent Nathan Lyon back to the pavilion. Marnus Labuschagne, who played a decorative inning of 91 runs, also fell prey to Jadeja’s lucrative bowling on Day 2.

IND vs AUS, Day 2 Stumps

After a rain-laden Day 1, the Australians started Day 2 on a bright note. Marnus Labuchange and Steve Smith were on the 22-yard pitch for the Baggy Greens and things looked under control. However, the Indian bowlers took charge of the match in the middle of the day as they halted the Australians for a total of 338 runs.

A new opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started the innings for India. Both the batsmen looked set on the pitch as they carried India to a positive start. The Indian openers built a 70 runs first-wicket partnership before Josh Hazlewood sent Rohit Back to the stands. Young Shubman Gill scored his maiden Test half-century. However, Pat Cummins bagged Gill’s wicket soon after his 50. Ajinkya Rahane (5*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (9*) will start the innings for India on Day 3.
