IND vs AUS: Pragyan Ojha Slams Australian Media For Defaming Virat Kohli And Hardik Pandya

Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha recently thrashed the Australian media for making the most of the recent controversy relating to Indian players. Five “Men in Blue” players including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, Navdeep Saini, and Rishabh Pant were accused of breaching Australia’s COVID-19 protocol as they were spotted in an indoor Melbourne restaurant which promiently goes against Cricket Australia’s bio-bubble protocol. Adding to that, the aforementioned players reportedly met and hugged an Indian fan by the name Navaldeep Singh.

IND vs AUS: Pragyan Ojha backfires at Australian media

Cricket Australia (CA) immediatedly asked for an investigation over the five mentioned Indian players who were later put into self-isolation. Soon after that, the Australian accused Indian skipper Virat Kohli and all-rounder Hardik Pandya for breaking the bio-bubble rules back in December. Apparently, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya went for shopping in Australia where they met and clicked a couple of photos with the fans. However, the incident happened in December and neither Kohli nor Pandya are a part of the current Indian squad.

The Australians clearly tried to add fuel in the fire and it didn’t went down well with Pragyan Ojha. Pragyan Ojha, in a recent interview with Sports Today, said that Australia’s attempt to defame the Indians is stupid. “That’s stupidity to the core I feel. Because everything was alright. Virat went shopping for his kid, same Hardik Pandya did. And few went for dinner here and there. And suddenly after losing the Test match, they start doing this,” said Ojha.

34-year-old Ojha also criticised Queensland’s minister for her unappealing statements relating to the issue. “I can understand the media and others, but I was not happy with the way the Health Minister gave out that statement and somebody who gave that information to the Health Minister. These are things which people take very seriously. And when you are in that position, you should get your facts right,” said Ojha.
