IND vs AUS: Indian Players Are Being Forced To Do Their Own Housekeeping Work In Brisbane

The Down Under series has certainly been a roller coaster ride for the Indian national cricket team. On one hand, the injury-laden India proved their mettle to the world by pitting themselves against the mighty Australian in Sydney Test, on the other, the series has taken a huge toll both, physically as well as mentally over the Men in the Blue squad. The Indians recently touched down Brisbane for the last and final match in the four-match “Border Gavaskar” Test series. However, things look more problematic for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side even before they take the crease at Gabba on Friday, January 15th.

IND vs AUS: Indian players are in a state of turmoil

As per reports, the Indian cricket team has been put under strict quarantine until they take the field for their fourth Test against Australia. It was previously reported, that the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) was seemingly resistant to obey the strict isolation policies in Brisbane. However, it looks as if the Queensland government were persistent about their approach towards implying the quarantine protocols over the visitors despite the BCCI’s various attempts.

It is now reported that the team India’s players are made to their own housekeeping work as hotel staff is not available to be at their service. “The team still have to do their own housekeeping in their respective rooms as hotel staff is not available for this purpose. The team still doesn’t have access to the swimming pool in the hotel although we are hoping that the access will be provided permission for this soon,” the source added.

Another report suggests that BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah are trying their best to ease the situation for the Indian players as the BCCI are in constant touch with Cricket Australia (CA). On Tuesday, the Indian team players were not allowed to leave their rooms despite the entire hotel being empty except for the Men in the Blue squad and support staff in it.

Nevertheless, the Indian team members are, now, allowed to move on their floors and can certainly mingle with their teammates.” The team members now have the permission to move around on the floors on which the rooms have been allocated to the Indian team. They are also now allowed to use the gymnasium within the hotel,” as reported by Zee News.
