An India-Pakistan match always draws the biggest crowds in the cricketing arena.
But because of strained relations between the two neighboring countries, they have faced each other only five times since 2011. Interestingly, all of them were only in the ICC tournaments.
According to the Times of India, although the ICC’s governing body is keen on holding a warm-up fixture between the two, it is yet to get in touch with the BCCI.
Since cricket’s biggest rivalry will not be on show in the group stages of the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia, thanks to the two team’s respective rankings, ICC has come up with this idea.
At the time of the 2020 World T20 draw, Pakistan and India occupied the number one and two spots, respectively, necessitating the two teams to be placed in different groups for the tournament.
