Finally, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has settled interim regulation transformations to its playing strategies. The interim rules & regulations include the prohibition of saliva usage to shine the ball and giving permissions home umpires to get part in the international series.

The chief executive of the ICC committee (CEC) accepted proposals from the Anil Kumble-monitored Cricket Committee. Both the committee have a goal to diminish the risks that occurred by the coronavirus and when cricket resumes, protect the players’ safety as well as other staff.

COVID-19 Replacements:

At the time of the Test match, Cricket teams will get permission to replace cricketers if they feel any kind of signs of COVID-19. The match umpire will take care of it.

But, the rules & regulations regarding replacements for COVID-19 will not be applicable in One Day Internationals as well as Twenty20Is.

Ban on saliva application to the ball: cricketers will not get permission to use saliva to shine the ball.  In case any player applies saliva to the ball, the umpire will handle the situation with some clemency, but after that, the team will get a warning from the umpire.

Non-neutral umpires: In all international matches: the requirement of taking normal match staffs will be stopped for a temporary basis because of the pandemic f. The ICC can give an appointment to the umpires, who are locally based, staffs from the Emirates ICC International Panel, and Emirates ICC Elite Panel.

Extra DRS reviews: Regarding the extra ineffective DRS review, the CEC has also made a decision for every side in every innings of a game. They also make it remember that sometimes there may be less experienced umpires on duty. This will boost the number of failed appeals in every innings for every side.

Extra logo allowed: in this meantime, the CEC has also given approval on the relaxations on rules on attire logos for the next 1 year.
