“I get tired of coming second in Super Overs”- SRH Player Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson is one of the most talented batsmen but is also severely unlucky when it comes to clutch situations. Be it losing in the ‘Super Overs’ or an ICC World Cup finals, Williamson has mostly lost it all. His latest defeat came during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s clash against Delhi Capitals. DC chased a total of 8 runs quite easily in the first super over of the season.
Chasing 160 on a tough surface against Delhi Capitals, Kane Williamson found no support in the middle overs. Williamson played a brilliant inning in the situation where it was very difficult to play spinners but Kane Williamson’s unbeaten 51-ball 66 wasn’t enough for the SRH to go over the line.  After the loss at the Chepauk, the Tauranga-born Williamson stated that ‘he’s tired of being on the losing side in ‘Super Overs’.

Kane Williamson Frustrated After Yet Again Super Over Loss

Kane Williamson, who endured yet another Super Over heartbreak on Sunday, asserted that he is tired of being second best in super overs.
“I get tired of coming second in Super Overs. I think whenever there is a Super Over, as a batting side chasing a very competitive score, there’s a lot of positives to take out of it. Very uncanny, in the game of cricket, the things can end up in a tie. “But I suppose that’s why it’s very very exciting. I am sure it was a great game to watch as well. So, a lot of positives, and we will move on very quickly to Delhi with a new focus,” Williamson was quoted as saying after the match.
Batting at No.9, Jagdeesha Suchith slammed an unbeaten six-ball 14 to support Williamson (66 from 51 balls) and helped the SRH tie the game, but the Delhi Capitals clinched a win in the ‘Super Over’.
This was Kane Williamson’s 5th Super Over defeat since 2019 and we all got to feel bad for the New Zealand Skipper. Road to glory will be difficult for Sunrisers Hyderabad now as they managed to win only 1 match this season. They will face in-form Chennai Super Kings next on Wednesday, 28th April.
