I Don’t Think Virat Will Drop Ishant Sharma: Salman Butt

Ishant Sharma had a poor third Test match against England where he couldn’t pick up any wicket and concede 92 runs of 22 overs. There was no threat from Ishant’s bowling and England players had an easy day against him where they couldn’t have asked for more. His bowling speed was in the late 120kmph and early 130kmph. Here is Will Virat Kohli Drop Ishant Sharma.

Will Virat Kohli Drop Ishant Sharma

Virat Kohli has already given a hint that there might be some changes in the lineup for the 4th Test. He also told that they’re happy with playing 5 specialist bowlers. Now that Ravindra Jadeja is also injured, it’ll be interesting to see what combinations does Kohli selects for the 4th Test.

With respect to Ishant Sharma, we have a former Pakistani opener Salman Butt who feels that he’s a bit offbeat and might not be included in the playing 11. The cricketer-turned-expert conducted a Question-and-Answer session on his YouTube channel where one of the fans had asked if Umesh Yadav should come in place of Ishant.

Virat might play Ravi Ashwin and go with two spinners: Butt

Kohli was asked about Ishant Sharma off-rhythm bowling.  “I was busy in the field, and I was watching the batters from the slip. So how could I know whether he was off rhythm or having any niggle. I was just watching the batter from the slips and ready to the catches.”

Butt thinks that Kohli will not drop Ishant and advises him to catch up on every detail of the match and players as a captain.

It is strange how Kohli neglected that question related to Ishant. As a captain, you must pay attention to minute details from the bowlers’ run-up to how he starts from the bowling crease whether his rhythm is okay or not. He gave this answer, ‘I don’t know since I was watching the batsman from the slips’.” Butt added.

“Looking at Kohli’s answer I don’t think he will drop Sharma, but if the pitch is a bit different then he might play Ravi Ashwin and go with two spinners,” Butt said.

It was rumored that Ravi Ashwin will be back in the squad for the 4th Test match which will be started from 2nd September.
