The legendary Sunil Gavaskar has an interesting take on former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar’s personality.
I Love Akhtar’s Sense Of Humour: Gavaskar
He called the Pakistan bowler a fast bowler with a sense of humour and he loved that.
Gavaskar and Akhtar were in news recently for their comments over the possibility of India-Pakistan series at present.
It all started few days ago when Akhtar suggested a 3-match one-day international series between the two neighbouring countries to raise funds for fighting corona.
Akhtar wanted the series to be an only-for-TV event where the matches should be held behind closed doors without any people inside the stadium.
He believes that such a series will be a big hit on the television as there has not been any bilateral series between India and his country for a long time.
However, Indian world-cup-winning captain, Kapil Dev dismissed the idea as he thought it would endanger the lives of cricketers and lives are more important than the game of cricket.
When Gavaskar appeared on Ramiz Raja’s Youtube channel the former Pakistan captain asked what he thinks about the idea.
Gavaskar also dismissed the idea as unreal saying that there were more chances of snowfall in Pakistan city Lahore than there is a bilateral series between India and Pakistan.
“I Get Along Well With Ramiz Raja”
However Akhtar gave a retort to Gavaskar by posting pictures of snow-covered streets of Lahore and commenting that there has been snowfall in Lahore last year and there might be chances for Indo-Pak series.
Gavaskar has reacted to Akhtar’s tweet about snowfall in Lahore in his column he wrote for a newspaper.
In the article he said that he receives many requests from former cricketers to speak on their channels about old times and it’s not easy to decline them but the chat with Ramiz Raja was enjoyable as he gets along well with him, and what he enjoyed more was the comeback by Akhtar.
He wrote, “What I enjoyed even more was Shoiab Akhtar’s superb comeback about my snowfall in Lahore comment. A fast bowler with a sense of humour. Wow, love that!”
