The shutdown of the streets will last until March 31st during which people are warned against coming out and should be in their houses.

He tweeted, “Never thought would see my city like this .. stay safe .. this will change soon for the better …love and affection to all ..”  along with few pictures of the city’s iconic landmarks without any people present there.

In most parts of Bengal including Kolkata and 8 other districts, people are staying indoors due to this lock-down in order to fight the menace of the dangerous virus.

The restrictions on the movement of people which the government has said for their own safety began on Monday at 5 P.M. and will extend until Friday.

The number of cases in the Eastern state has jumped to nine and one of the patients has been dead.
