“England Should Drop Malan And Play Stokes At No.3”- Dinesh Karthik’s Advise To Eoin Morgan Before The 5th T20I

Team India managed to keep themselves alive in the thrilling 5-match T20I series against England. Suryakumar Yadav’s heroics helped India win the fourth T20I clash against England, which leveled the series by 2-2. The final match of the series will be played on Saturday, March 20 at the Narendra Modi stadium. Both the teams will be eyeing a crucial series win to boost their confidence before the much-anticipated ICC T20I World Cup.

IND vs ENG: Dinesh Karthik Suggests England Some Changes

Ace Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has some advice for the English team on how they should team up against India in the last T20I. Dinesh karthik, who is one of the panelist for star sports, opined that England should drop no.1 T20I batsman Dawid Maland and promote Ben Stokes in the number 3 spot. This comes after Stokes dominating innings of 46 runs off 23 balls in the 4th T20I. Karthik added that England should get in Sam Billings in place of Dawid Malan for the last T20I.

“If I know Morgan, he’ll stick to the same XI and make sure he gives them confidence. But, for me, I have nothing against Malan – I think he’s a good player – but I think Stokes should bat at No 3, with the intent he showed, the way he was taking on the bowlers. If it was Roy, Buttler, Stokes, with Bairstow at No 4 and Morgan No 5, that’s the way I’d look at it. That looks pretty solid to me,” Karthik said on Sky Sports.

IND vs ENG: Nasser Hussain on England’s loss

English legend Nasser Hussain gave his two cents about England’s loss against India in the fourth T20I. “That middle-order needs looking at. Three left-handers going in one after the other, up against a bowler [Thakur], who finds bowling off-cutters to left-handers very easy. [Dawid] Malan at the top, using up deliveries, left the left-handers in the middle order with a lot to do against a good death bowler,” Nasser said after the game.

“When the two right-handed lower-order batsmen, [Jofra] Archer and [Chris] Jordan got in, Thakur couldn’t go to his off-cutter, he had to try something different and that threw him a little bit. England’s three left-handers, coming in one after the other, just gave the momentum to India, “ he added
