Dravid Also Impressed With The Progress Of Chameera: Arthur

Dushmantha Chameera in the bowler’s division is a significant benefit of the Sri Lankan team. Chameera is quick, strikes the top, and swings well from the pitch too. The Sri Lankan head coach, Mickey Arthur shared his thinking with the right-arm bowler.

Arthur was quite delighted with Chameera and said the quick bowler did an excellent job. Arthur further added that Rahul Dravid, as the Team India head coach of the Lankan series was equally impressed with the evolution of Chameera in the series. Arthur also supported the continual improvement of Chameera.

“Yeah look. He has had a lot of work and I just want to say, Dushmantha Chameera has been outstanding. In my opinion, talking to Rahul Dravid the other night, Rahul has been really impressed with him and his development”.

“Chameera is just getting better and better all the time,” said Arthur ahead of the three-match T20I series involving India and Sri Lanka in the pre-match press conference.

Chameera has been our spearhead: Mickey Arthur

Arthur said it was wonderful to see Chameera relaxing and disclosed that he informed Chameera that only had 12 overs to bowled and had 3 weeks to rest. Arthur finished with the statement that Chameera was the ball-in-hand spearhead for Sri Lanka.

“It would be nice to think of rest. I said to him last night, he has got 12 overs to go. 12 overs to go and he can have three weeks off. So, I am hoping that we can get 12 overs out of him, and then he can have a well-deserved break. He has been our spearhead and he has taken that responsibility and run with that responsibility and been extremely good with it,” concluded Arthur.

Sri Lanka will compete with India on 25 July 2021, in a three-game T20I series. On 27 and 29 July 2021 respectively, the 2nd and 3rd games of this series will be played.
