India Tour of England 1st Test Update of 5th Day
The wait is over as we are near to the end of 1st test of India Tour of England 2025. India after ending their second innings 364, England have now begun their chase for the 371 runs target which will be their final push to claim the first test victory. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the India Tour of England 5th day of 1st test update.
England’s no Nonsense Chase
Until the rain-delay had taken the excitement away from us, England started the 5th day of the first test with immense pressure and no immediate relief from it. They had scored 21 runs at the end of the fourth day, and had to score 350 runs in 90 overs. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, both of the English openers have been taking the chase down with them.
Ben Duckett has now scored 105 runs and is not out in 126 balls, and has hit 14 runs in the pursuit to chase down the target. On the other side of the pitch, Zak Crawley has been a supportive pillar for Ben, with his 59 runs off 121 balls, hitting a mere 6 fours at a strike rate of 48.76, displays how England has been easily passing the pressure onto the Indian side, without losing any wickets.
Is India in the game?
Team India has been struggling to get dismissals in the fourth and last innings of the first test. Jasprit Bumrah who although is an expert in racking up wickets in these pitch conditions, has been put to a halt by the English side. Although he and his fellow pacer Mohammed Siraj have racked maiden overs, their pursuit for getting dismissals seems never-ending.
Is India in the game? after watching England slowly stack up runs and India unable to get some dismissal, the match seems to go England’s way. However, with the rain giving us a break, there are chances the match can turn upside down and India might be back in business.
