Ace South African pacer Dale Steyn has released an official apology for the statements he made regarding the Indian Premier League. On Tuesday, 37-year-old Dale Steyn stated that leagues like PSL are more rewarding than IPL. He also added that India’s top tier T20 league focuses more on money than raw talent. Steyn cited IPL’s money-oriented nature behind his reason to skip the upcoming season this year.
IPL is less rewarding as compared to PSL and other leagues. cricket gets forgotten, amid money talks, in the IPL which is why i decided against playing the last season. There is breeding machine of fast-bowlers here in Pakistan which is great to see.Dale Steyn(Express tribune) pic.twitter.com/dLa6dIy66E

IPL 2021: Dale Steyn clears his stand about IPL
Dale Steyn’s views didn’t settle well with cricket fans in India. Dale Steyn was severely criticised for his insensitive comments. Indian fans were seemingly left upset seeing the IPL legend mocking the league.
He was getting bashed anyway
He was going to be unsold in this IPL as well
Poor remarks by steyn, could have avoided them— Rohiratian (@Devansh657) March 2, 2021
My Opinions after hearing to Dale Steyn @CricCrazyJohns
– Don’t stream IPL in Pak
– juz 2 foreign players, cause hardly all 4 foreign players perform
– if anyone has problems with IPL, don’t bark, we indians are happy to see our stars here#dalesteyn— ritesh patil (@not_ritx) March 2, 2021
IPL 2021: Dale Steyn’s Tweet
Nevertheless, Steyn came forward and cleared his intentions via a Tweet. He stated that it wasn’t his intention to insult the Indian Premier League. Dale Steyn tweeted: “IPL has been nothing short of amazing in my career, as well as other players too. My words were never intended to be degrading, insulting, or comparing any leagues. Social media and words out of context can often do that. My apologies if this has upset anyone. Much love.”
