Chetan Sharma comments on Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah, a prominent Indian bowler, was anticipated to rejoin the team for the forthcoming series against Bangladesh and New Zealand. Before playing Bangladesh in ODIs and Tests. Team India is scheduled to play T20 Internationals and One-Day Internationals against the Kane Williamson-led group.
Major Update on Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah, who hasn’t played since September, was supposed to be a part of the team for the two games. But the BCCI selectors didn’t include his name on the list when they unveiled the lineups for the four series on Monday. And Chetan Sharma BCCI’s chief selector provided a major update on Bumrah’s condition. And well as an explanation for why he was not included in the series.
Bumrah missed the important event Asia Cup due to a back injury that he suffered before the Asia Cup. He did, however, come back for the following home series against Australia, but was again hampered with the same injury and ultimately excluded from the T20 World Cup.
Chetan Sharma Says
Chetan Sharma BCCI’s chief selector disclosed to the media that the team management would want to be patient and not rush into his return. Because we had done that previous time with the T20 World Cup just around the corner and the out come was not positive.
He quoted saying “The selection committee has to deal with workload management which we follow very closely. Now, we tried to hurry up Jasprit Bumrah, we tried to get him with the World Cup coming. And see what has happened? We are without Jasprit Bumrah in the World Cup.”
When can we expect Bumrah back in action?
“The NCA team and the medical team are looking after him very well. And he will definitely be part and parcel of the team very soon. In the sense definitely against Australia (series in 2023).”
The reason behind Resting players
“That is why I always request the media that when we rest a player three is a reason behind that. No selector fancies that we keep changing the team or the captains it is only that three is so much cricket. And there is so much workload management to look after that we have to keep looking after the player’s body. End of the day they are humans. He will be back soon. The NCA team is working on him properly and I hope he will return soon to play for India.”
Let’s hope that Jasprit Bumrah is back in action soon and can contribute as he did in the past. India is currently missing a good experienced fast bowler who is consistent with his line and length, especially during the death overs.
