BCCI President Saurav Ganguly Underwent COVID-19 Test A Total Of 22 Times in 4 Months

BCCI President and former Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly recently revealed that he underwent COVID-19 tests for a total of 22 times in a span of around five months. 48-year-old Ganguly had to undergo the COVID-19 tests while serving as the president of BCCI, especially during the latest edition of Dream11 IPL. Ganguly was kept busy during the whole of Dream11 IPL 2020 which took place between September to November.

Saurav Ganguly’s Was Lucky Enough To Avoid The Disease

However, the Indian ace was luckily not tested positive for the lethal virus even once. Saurav Ganguly, in a recent video conference, stated that he had many positive cases around him which forced him to get tested again and again. “I stay with elderly parents and I have travelled to Dubai and in the initial part, I was very worried, not just for me, but the community, you don’t want to spread it to somebody else because people are looking up to you,” added Ganguly.

Saurav Ganguly also spoke about the upcoming India’s tour of Australia. Indian national team completed their quarantine period in Sydney on Tuesday, November 24. Saurav Ganguly confirmed that all the Indian players are fit and fine for the much-anticipated series. He later said “Australia also doesn’t have a very high number of COVID cases, the borders were closed for a while…they are still very, very tight on international travel, you have to do 14 days of hard quarantine, so the boys are ready to get onto the field.”

Saurav Ganguly Applauds His BCCI Team

The former Indian skipper also lauded BCCI’s effort for carrying off a successful IPL season despite all the on-going chaos in the world. He also disclosed BCCI’s optimistic plans to bring the IPL back in India for it’s upcoming season. “We had about 400 people staying in the bio-bubble, 30-40 thousand tests have happened over a period of two and half months to make sure that everyone is safe and healthy,” he said. “it’s a tournament for India. People spoke about the success of IPL, I told all of them that you must, you have to be in India to see what IPL is to India,” the BCCI president added.
