BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit Head: IPL 2020 Is Fairly More Secure

Ajit Singh believes that this year IPL is comparatively more secure:

The BCCI Anti- Corruption Unit head, Ajit Singh believes that the 13th edition of IPL is going to be a more secure event due to the bio-secure bubble.

While giving an interview to the media, Ajit Singh said “Anyone can’t say that the league is going to be the safest one, but undoubtedly it is going to be more secure as per the anti-corruption unit’s point of view as there will be no interaction between sides, supporting staff members and outsiders. The 13th season IPL is going to be more secure comparatively. But, still, we can’t say that it is a foolproof thing.”

The 2020th edition of the Indian Premier League is going to be held in the UAE across three venues- Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah from 19th September to 10th November for 53 days.

At first, it was scheduled to be held from 29th March, but because of the outbreak of COVID-19, it was postponed.

Ajit Singh Statement:

Furthermore, Ajit Singh stated that “those making approaches around the hotel, keep sitting in the lobby area of the hotel, come as sponsors and asking to be brand ambassadors, which is normally a cover for illegal activity so that kind of thing would not happen.”

However, Ajit Singh said “ Through social media, the players can be approached. In spite of person-to-person interaction or face-to-face interaction, the players can be approached through social media. If someone messages me on Facebook and then begins as a normal post coming from a fan, finally if you find that maybe there is a probability of being able to do compromise the person you may make an effort. So, we need to give anti-corruption education.”

According to Ajit Singh, the next challenge is the market of betting. “We are keeping an eye to monitor the betting market, how the market of betting is working, does it provide any kind of suspicious trends. And one person has to keep the informers of the game active and then monitor the social media platforms”.
