The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) is said to be happy with the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s biosecurity procedures. In a conversation, BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan said: “Yes, the tour is confirmed and they (Australia) are coming to play the five-match T20I series.”

On July 29, both Australia as well as Bangladesh will land in Dhaka. Bangladesh will fly in from Zimbabwe, whereas Australia will come from the West Indies. The BCB had suggested playing matches in both Dhaka and Chattogram, but the Australian board decided to play all of its games in Dhaka.

Before the series begins on August 1, both sides are slated to have only one practice day. The five Twenty20 Internationals will be held on August 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8 respectively. Australia could visit Bangladesh for the first time since 2017.

“We’ve had a few meetings about what it’s going to look like in Bangladesh” – Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood, an Australian fast bowler presently on tour in the West Indies, understands that the regulations in Bangladesh would be tough. Whereas the visit is limited, the pacer believes there will be no trouble when Australia arrives on the continent.

“We’ve had a few meetings about what it’s going to look like in Bangladesh, it’s obviously going to be quite tight restrictions within the bubble. I think it’s going to be purely at the hotel, or the cricket ground, which we have done before and we are used to. It’s quite a short trip as well, which is good. I think it will be no dramas and we will get that done on the back end of this tour.” The fast-bowler was quoted in a conversation.

Bangladesh and Australia have only faced one another 4 times in the shortest format, which was all in the T20 World Cups. In T20Is, the Australians have yet to lose to an Asian team.
