Russell will approach the MCG via a secondary gate, use a separate staircase, and set it up in the dressing rooms. During warm-ups, he must keep at least 2 meters away from the players and support personnel. His dugout will likewise be separate from the rest of his teammates.

Russell will not be able to participate in high fives upon taking wickets, and a special microphone will be set up for him during post-match discussions. Russell would have to keep away from his colleagues after exiting the field and will join again after 7 days of quarantine.

According to reports, Cricket Australia set the guidelines and presented them to the Stars. The decision has been made with the health and well-being of the cricketers keeping the COVID-19 outbreak in consideration.
