Afghani spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman was tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who was all set to feature for Brisbane Heat in Big Bash League 2020 (BBL), is currently admitted in a Queensland hospital. Mujeeb Ur Rahman landed in Australia last week from Kabul but caught the deadly virus while quarantining this week.

BBL 2020-21: Mujeeb Ur Rahman Tested Positive for COVID-19
Brisbane Heat’s official account confirmed the news of the 19-year-old testing positive for Coronavirus. The statement read that Mujeeb will be hospitalized in Queensland Health Department and will only join BBL 2020 after he tests negative for the virus.

Terry Svenson, CEO of Queensland Cricket, stated that Mujeeb’s health is one of the top priorities for Brisbane Heat and for Queensland cricket as well. Svenson further stated that BBL are motivated to work with the best authorities to ensure total protection to the players while avoiding the lethal disease. He addressed the well-being of the players is very important for the Queensland Cricket as well as for Brisbane Heat. He further said that Mujeeb is a strong young chap and that they will make sure he is taken care of in Australia.
Alistair Dobson, cricket Australia’s Head of Big Bash Leagues, ensured that the health and safety of BBL players, staff and the extended community is their top priority this season. Dobson guaranteed that Australia board will provide their full support to Mujeeb Ur Rahman and as well as Brisbane Heat. He further stated the board will ensure that Mujeeb follows all Queensland Government’s protocols for his speedy recovery.
