Bangladesh U-19 Team In Finals
Bangladesh U-19 cricket team has made history after entering into the final of the U-19 World Cup for the first time. The team was led by captain Akbar Ali, and it won the 2nd semi-final match by 7 wickets against New Zealand on Thursday in South Africa.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl. They lost early wickets during the 1st powerplay while chasing a fair score of 212 runs.
Bangladesh’s Performance In The Match
Tanzid Hasan was dismissed after making 3 runs in the 7th over and his opening partner Parvez Hossain Emon was dismissed after scoring 14 runs in 29 balls.
Bangladesh required a strong partnership during 8.2 overs when it was at a score of 32 for 2. At that moment Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Towhid Hindoy provided the team a great partnership. They added 68 runs for the 3rd wicket to bring the match under control.
Mahmudul Hason Joy successfully overcame the situation with 100 runs in 127 balls. He helped Bangladesh to succeed in the chase of the 212-run target in 44.1 overs. Shoriful Islam was the preferred bowler of Bangladesh and he took three wickets for 45 runs in 10 overs.
New Zealand’s Performance
Earlier, the New Zealand team made a score of 211 with great effort. Beckham Wheeler-Greenall made a quick run of 75 in 83 balls and Nicholas Lidstone helped his team by scoring 44. But New Zealand lost regular wickets that turn down their speed during the 1st innings.
Playing Against India In Finals
Team India which is led by captain Priyam Garg, beat its major competitor Pakistan by 10 wickets in the 1st semi-final on Tuesday. Initially, India fast-bowlers limited Pakistan to 172 runs and later opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal hit an unbeaten century to make his team win.
Hence now the fans are waiting for the final U-19 World Cup that will be played between India and Bangladesh on Sunday.
