Australia vs Pakistan, 1st Test: Marnus Labuschagne’s Maiden Test Hundred Helps Australia Dominate Pakistan

The 1st Test between Australia and Pakistan took place at Gabba, Brisbane. After a brilliant start on Day 1, Australia gave a tough fight to the Pakistan players. David Warner made a mark with his batting, scoring 154 runs in 296 balls that helped Australia to head for a big lead against Pakistan on Day 1.

Finally, Australia won on the 4th day by defeating Pakistan by innings and 5 runs while Australia maintained their unbeaten record at the Gabba. Marnus Labuschagne, who played a key role in the innings scored 185, was the man of the match, which saw Australia scoring 580 runs in 157.4 overs while Pakistan scored 240 in 86.2 overs and 335 in 84.2 overs.

Australia dominated the Day 3 proceedings of the first Test after accumulating 580 runs before Stumps. Even though teenage pacer Naseem Shah claimed his first-ever Test wicket, Australia took a 340-run lead after the end of first innings. The Australian pacers rattled Pakistan top-order batsmen, claiming 3 wickets before the end of day’s play.

Marnus Labuschagne’s maiden Test ton powered Australia to a 340-run first-innings lead on the third day of the first Test at the Gabba. Labuschagne and Matthew Wade shared in a 110-run partnership before Wade was well caught by Rizwan for 60 off Sohail.

Pakistan bowlers toiled hard throughout the day and were rewarded when they took the last five Australian wickets for 35 runs, with Yasir (4-205) and Shaheen Afridi (2-96) chipping in.
