Australia Tour Of South Africa
The Australian team is currently touring South Africa for three ODIs series and three T20Is series. The tour has started with the first T20I match on the 21st of February and Australia won the match by 107 runs. The last game of the tour will be the 3rd ODI and it will be held on March 7 between the two teams.
Inclusion Of Jhye Richardson For ODIs
Jhye Richardson is the fast-bowler of the Australian team who is added to the ODI squad of Australia on Wednesday for three ODI matches against South Africa that is going to begin from Saturday.
The pacer suffered a serious shoulder injury after the series against Pakistan last year, thus he hasn’t played any international cricket for Australia for 11 months.
Richardson dislocated his shoulder ahead of the last year’s World Cup in England. But he was called back for the T20I series against South Africa and will remain with his team for the one-day internationals.
Jhye Richardson’s Previous Records
Richardson has played 12 ODI matches in which he took 24 wickets in total with an average of 26.33. In his T20I career, the player has appeared in 9 matches and took overall 9 wickets with an average of 31.89.
The Big Bash League turned out to be productive for Richardson, as he picked up 15 wickets for Perth Scorchers in 14 games at an economy of 7.07. He hasn’t played in the T20Is yet but his early recovery influences the national selector of Australia.
However, Richardson’s name has not been placed in the Australian squad that is going to face New Zealand at home very soon, after finishing the tour of South Africa. The selectors kept the name of the original 14-member squad that will face South Africa in ODIs.
