AUS vs WI: Second ODI Set To Resume After Suspension

On Saturday, July 24, the West Indies and Australia will begin their One Day International series. Cricket West Indies said on Friday that all 152 members who were tested for COVID on Thursday had found to be negative results. West Indies-Australia ODI Series Set to Resume.

Officials from Barbados’ Ministry of Health have confirmed this. After a non-playing day on July 22, the 2nd ODI of the three-match series was suspended.

Following that, both teams’ members were placed in isolation, and the game had to be called off, as per protocol. Upon the toss at the Kensington Oval, both teams revealed their playing XI’s.

West Indies-Australia ODI Series Set to Resume. Meanwhile, the third and last One-Day International will be held on July 26. After discussions with Cricket Australia, representatives from the Barbados government, and the Barbados Cricket Association, CWI made the decision.

“We are happy to be able to announce the restart of the CG Insurance ODI series at Kensington Oval tomorrow. We want to thank our counterparts at CA for their co-operation in this matter as we look to get the games going again,” CWI president Ricky Skerrit was quoted as saying in a conversation.

“It has been a challenging two days and we have worked very swiftly and safely, following all the established medical protocols, to make sure that all necessary precautions are in place to ensure that we can go ahead to resume play safely, tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the situation and respond accordingly,” he added.

Riley Meredith, the fast bowler who made his T20 debut earlier this year, is determined to make his ODI debut in the first ODI. Wes Agar, who started the game, was substituted in the starting eleven by the quick.

Meredith also took part in the Australians’ 1-4 loss in a five-match T20I series. The Australians have kicked off the ODI series with a knock, winning the first game by a staggering 133 runs. Following the West Indies series, Australia will play a T20I series in Bangladesh. Later this month, the squad will arrive in Dhaka.
