Andre Russell Is T20’s Brain Lara : Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo On Andre Russell:

West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo paid tribute to teammate Andre Russell, saying he is their T20 style, Brian Lara. Russell is considered in the shortest format to be one of the most prolific batsmen in the world, and his bowling and fielding skills make him the MVP for T20 cricket.

In the T20 format, Bravo thinks that Russell is the best in the business and contrasts his influence with that of the West Indies greats Brian Lara and Chris Gayle.

“He’s the best in the world,” Bravo said to radio station 1955 FM.

“It’s the same thing I used to say about Chris Gayle when Chris Gayle was in his prime-we’re glad to have him representing us, we didn’t have to come up in an international match to bowl against him.

“Andre Russell is the same. Andre Russell is now our Chris Gayle in the T20 format, he is our Brian Lara. He’s the superstar” he explained.

Recent Performances Of Andre Russell In Cricket:

Russell recently illustrated his worth against Sri Lanka, where he led West Indies to a series-clinching win in Pallekele. In a blistering 14-ball inning, he hit six sixes as West Indies smashed their way to a seven-wicket victory.

Bowlers reduced Sri Lanka to 155 for six and then Brandon King struck 43 off 21 balls and Russell made 40 of just 14 balls as West Indies raced to 158 on 17 overs for three.

Russell was supposed to set the stage alight for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League but the launch of the tournament was moved back from March 29 to April 15 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Not only this, but all the players who have returned from the foreign country tournaments have also been advised to practice self-isolation in the wake of the spread of Coronavirus infection. All the domestic, national and international matches have been suspended due to this, as mass gatherings would trigger the spread of infection.
