3 Replacements Of Kohli Who Can Lead Royal Challengers Bangalore

Replacement Captain For Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has owned some of the top-class players of the cricketing globe. Still, the team is yet to get the taste of winning the most desired Indian Premier League trophy.

Virat Kohli replaced Daniel Vettori in 2013 and got the position of skipper in the RCB team and has captained the team in more than 100 games. He will lead the team again in the 13th season of this 20-over game with a hope to break their duck this year.

According to sources, Kohli has been removed from captaincy after yet another failure in the 2018 season. So it is necessary for the team management to register some other options for captaincy as his replacement.

Here Are The Players Who Can Lead Royal Challengers Bangalore Apart From Virat Kohli.

1. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch is the top-order batsman who is known for his hard-hitting and match finishing skills. He has captained Australia, leading them to win in the ODIs and T20Is.

He got 16 victories in 29 games of T20Is. 2019 was a productive year for him, as his team remained unbeaten in the shortest format and won 7 out of 8 matches.

Australia added 16 matches into their account out of 23 in the 50-overs format in the previous year. In fact, under Finch’s captaincy, Australia was on a 10-match winning line from March to July.

He has already appeared in 5 IPL teams and they are Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals, Pune Warriors, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians. Apart from this, he and was a part of the Gujarat Lions’ squad for the 9th and 10th season of the tournament.

The experienced player was also the skipper of the Melbourne Renegades, who won the 2018-19 season of the Big Bash League (BBL). Thus after considering all his facts, it seems that the 33-year-old is the most likely choice after Kohli to take the responsibility of RCB.

2. AB de Villiers

When we talk about experience, AB de Villiers has mastered in leading a team. He guided South Africa from January 2011 to June 2017 and led them to win 59 ODIs out of 98 matches. Captaincy also boosted up his batting strength positively, as his average stands at a stunning 63.94, while 53.50 as a non-skipper.

He is joint-third on the list of most successful South Africa captain in the 50-overs format. He has won 8 out of 17 T20Is. Now moving towards the IPL franchise, Ab de Villers knows RCB by the back of his palm.

He finished as the leading run-getter for his franchise for three seasons and was a constant name in the top-three run-scorers. And his versatility made him one of the best batsmen in all formats of the game.

RCB added him for INR 5 crore in 2011 and hasn’t left him ever since. Though the team is yet to win the trophy, he has gathered a huge amount of fandom. And by having experience of 154 IPL games, he can also be another choice as skipper.

3. Parthiv Patel

Considering the IPL, Parthiv Patel is one of the most experienced players in this field since he made his first appearance in IPL. And debuted for Kings XI Punjab in the year 2008. After that, he has tried with other franchises.

He was in Chennai Super Kings in the first three years of the IPL, he gave some important performances as an opener, especially a 60 in the final of the first season of the game.

Parthiv made a big score of 2848 runs in 139 matches with 13 half-centuries and showed his capability. In 2018, RCB brought him at INR 1.70 crores in 2018. Though he hasn’t led any IPL side, he has captained in India’s domestic cricket by representing Gujarat.

He captained his team and won the title for the first time in the 2016-17 season of the Ranji Trophy. He instantly made 143 in the second innings and helped Gujarat chase down 313 runs. Thus without any doubt, RCB can also consider him for leading the team apart from Kohli.
