New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell created record on Friday by smashing another century against England in the second day of third Test match at the Headingley, Leeds.
In the current series against England, this is Mitchell’s third successive century. The right-handed batter succeeded in doing so, making him the first New Zealand batsman to do so.
Mitchell has scored 482 runs with an average of 120.5 in five innings in the ongoing series. His bat has produced three centuries, one half-century, with a top score of 190.
The star all-rounder of New Zealand is became the fourth player in the 21st century to hit a third consecutive century as a visitor on a tour to England. Mitchell with his incredible batting has joined, India legend Rahul Dravid (2002, 2011), Mohammad Yusuf (2006) and Steve Smith (2019) in the elite list of batters.

Jonny Bairstow (130*) and debutant Jamie Overton (89*) have helped England reach 264/6 in 49 overs by the end of Day 2. Currently, the team is 65 runs behind in the game.
After a shaky start, the English were down to 55/6. However, Bairstow and Overton grabbed command of the innings and provide the team much-needed stability.
Trent Boult, took the most number of wickets for Kiwis so far in the innings. He took 3 for 73 in 16 overs at an economy rate of 4.60. NZ, who had earlier batted first, was bowled out for 329.
Kiwis reached a good score, thanks to Mitchell (109) and Blundell (55), who both played outstanding knocks.
Jack Leach bagged the most wickets England. He dismissed 5 batters. Stuart Broad dismissed 3 as well.
Mitchell also made history by becoming the first New Zealander to surpass 400 runs in a Test series against England in 73 years. Mitchell outperformed Bert Sutcliffe’s total during the 1949 Black Caps tour of England with his innings in the third Test match. In that series, Sutcliff had amassed 451 runs.
