In the good old days, it was a common sight that fans run into the pitch. Nowadays with so much security around the ground, it became a rare thing to see. Even with so much security, the unceasing desire of fans to meet their favorite cricketer will force them to break down all the odd and achieve it.
During the nerve-wracking fourth T20I match between India and New Zealand in Wellington, an Indian fan intruded the field to meet their captain Virat Kohli. Right away the security officials noticed the intruder and forced him outside of the ground but little did they know that there is another fan on the different part of Westpac Stadium who made it into the cricket field. This whole scenario took place after the second over when India fast bowler Navdeep Saini delivered a ball and New Zealand’s run-chase.
This is not the first time that an Indian fan breached the security to enter the ground but it took place last year in New Zealand in Hamilton to meet MS Dhoni during the 3rd over of T20I.
Even if we consider the fact that there are security officials in a cricket stadium, such incidents take place. As a fan one can understand that it is not the right way, to breach the security and meet a player as it can have after-math to deal with for both the players and the trespasser.
Coming to Virat Kohli, the 31-year-old player scored 105 runs in all theT20Is.He has an average of 26.25 and a strike rate of 131.25. More importantly, Virat led India to win all the four T20I matches in the India tour of New Zealand. With the 5th T20I win they are trying to whitewash New Zealand in Mount Maunganui
