After A Cricket Player Reports Threats, Uttarakhand’s Secretary Named in FIR.

Uttarakhand’s Secretary Named in FIR: Mahim Verma, the secretary of the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU), and six other members of the state cricket team have been identified in an FIR due to a complaint made by the father of former Under-19 player Arya Sethi.

In the FIR filed on June 20, the complainant Virendra Sethi said that during the Vijay Hazare tournament last year, Uttarakhand coach Manish Jha, team manager Navneet Mishra, and video analyst Piyush Raghuvanshi threatened to kill his kid.

At the Vasant Vihar police station in Dehradun, an FIR has been filed under the criminal conspiracy (120B), deliberate insult (504), and criminal intimidation provisions as well as sections for extortion (384), willingly causing harm (323), and voluntary causing harm (323). (506).

The FIR claims that coach Jha beat and insulted Arya during a practice session in Rajkot, where the Uttarakhand squad was stationed for the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December of last year. Arya went to the state association secretary, Verma, and told him about the event, which made things worse.

The FIR claims that when he protested to Verma, Arya was summoned to the coach’s room and threatened with death. Threats to kill have been leveled against manager Mishra, video analyst Raghuvanshi, and coach Jha. According to the FIR, the group allegedly told Arya they would hire an assassin.

Sanjay Gusain, the spokesperson for the cricket organization, and Satyam Verma and Parul are all included as defendants in the FIR that was filed at the Vasant Vihar police station in Dehradun.

The inquiry is still going on, according to Vinod Singh Rana, SHO of the Vasant Vihar Police Station.

“We have filed an FIR, and an inquiry is now underway. We set up a small team to look into the situation, and we even sent notices to CAU authorities, but we haven’t heard anything from them. According to information provided to us, two of the seven had relocated to a court where they were granted protection from arrest. The cops can instead question them. But in this case, we haven’t obtained a court order,” Rana remarked.

Calls and texts were not returned by CAU secretary Verma.

Recently, independent MLA Umesh Kumar made accusations of corruption against the CAU during a Vidhan Sabha session.

When approached by this publication on Tuesday, MLA Kumar said that professional costs had significantly increased despite the fact that cricket was not being played because of the Covid epidemic. “I want to know who received the Rs 6.5 crore in professional fees that CAU issued during Covid. The professional fees were around Rs 2.75 crores before March 2020.

Who spent Rs. 1.27 crores on lunch and supper during Covid? How did they find coaches for cricket? I have brought up this issue at Uttarakhand Sadan. There is a lot of corruption going on here, therefore I think the BCCI should step in,” Kumar remarked.
