Pakistan will win the T20 World Cup, according to Waqar Younis

Waqar Younis, a veteran of Pakistan cricket, thinks his former nation has a great opportunity to win the ICC T20 World Cup this year.

The Asian country, which is presently rated third in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, will visit Australia later this year with plenty of confidence after some successful outings in the game’s shortest format over the previous 12 months.

After losing to Aaron Finch‘s team in November of last year, Pakistan advanced to the semifinals of the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and has only lost one other 20-over game overall, to Australia.

They also have the two strongest hitters in T20 cricket, in skipper Babar Azam and seasoned right-hander Mohammad Rizwan, and Waqar believes that all of this points to a successful showing at this year’s competition.

Waqar asserted that “We have an excellent chance of succeeding in this World Cup.” Recently, ICC Digital was in Melbourne.

Pakistan has excellent hitters who can really play well in those circumstances, and the fields in Australia are often extremely favorable for hitters.

At the top of the order, Babar will unquestionably be the best hitter.

“I believe Babar will have the same influence he has always had, and of course, Rizwan is playing really well and the bowling offense is one of the finest in the world,” said the bowling coach.

Waqar is referring to a bowling attack that is led by the towering pacer Shaheen Afridi, but the Pakistani great believes that his supporting cast with the ball is still grossly underappreciated.

Right-armer Haris Rauf has previously performed well in Australia‘s domestic Large Bash League, and spinners Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz have also impressed recently.

In the past year or two, we have used approximately six or seven fast bowlers, and they have all performed admirably, according to Waqar.
