PAK vs NZ, 1st Test, Day 1 Updates: Pakistan is three wickets down against New Zealand on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test in Karachi. 

Day 1 of the first Test, which is now taking place in Karachi, has Pakistan behind New Zealand by five wickets. However, Babar Azam scored his ninth century in a Test to help Pakistan bounce back from the early blows. Babar, the captain of Pakistan, had earlier chosen to bat against New Zealand after winning the toss. Sarfaraz Ahmed has taken Mohammad Rizwan’s place in the playing 11, According to Babar, who also revealed that Mir Hamza, who had joined to the squad before the first Test, is back in the Test lineup after making his Test debut in 2018.

PAK VS NZ: In the Innings Day 1 2nd test 

Pakistan captain Babar Azam hit his ninth test century and alongside the recalled Sarfaraz Ahmed helped his team recover against New Zealand on Monday in the first Test.

Babar smashed his hundred off 161 balls with a six off Michael Bracewell over midwicket just before tea as Pakistan progressed to 224/4. Breaking a 16-year-old record held by Mohammad Yousuf, Azam now holds the record for the most runs in a calendar year by a Pakistan batter.

Records fall on opening day as Karachi witnesses Men’s Test cricket first 

Kiwi skipper Tim Southee introduced veteran spinner Ajaz Patel into the attack in just the fourth over of the day and the move paid dividends almost immediately as Abdullah Shafique was out stumped by Blundell for seven.

Then just three overs later the Kiwis had their second and it was Shan Masood that perished this time, with the left-hander stumped by Blundell off the bowling of Michael Bracewell.

It meant the first two dismissals of the Test had been stumpings, a feat which had never been seen previously at Test level for men.

Batting First Pakistan Started well with Abdullah Shafique and Imam-Ul-Haq. In the meanwhile, the innings was at a good pace Haq and Shan Masood both got stumped and which created History in men men’s test cricket. It was never that in test cricket the batters walking off this means.  After that Babar Azam took the innings to a good turn after scoring 161 runs, a big inning by the Pakistan skipper. The Pakistan batters showed some good cricket in the Middle after fall of 5th Wicket Sarfaraz comes in and partners the skipper to achieve a good number Pakistan’s Overall score after day 1 stumps is 317/5. On the Other side, Kiwi Bowlers did a good job.
