Boria Majumdar BANNED for 2 years by the BCCI in the case of intimidating cricketer Wriddhiman Saha

After a committee judged him guilty of threatening Wriddhiman Saha, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) banned journalist Boria Majumdar for two years. After being turned down for an interview, Majumdar allegedly screamed at Saha. The BCCI had created a three-person committee to look into the matter. Here in this article, we talk in detail about Journalist Boria Majumdar Banned For Threatening Wriddhiman Saha.

“All state units of the Indian cricket board will be informed not to allow him to enter stadiums,” says the statement. We will not provide him media accreditation for home matches, and we will also write to the ICC to have him blacklisted. According to a report by Indian Express, a top BCCI official had stated, “Players would be advised not to engage with him.”

Saha had shared a snapshot of the conversation with a ‘journalist’ in February, revealing how Majumdar had scared him, adding, “I don’t take insults gently.” And I’ll keep this in mind.” However, Saha did not divulge the journalist’s name at that time.

The cricket community has backed the decision. The Indian wicket-keeper gained significant sympathy from the cricketing community following the event. According to the report, BCCI President Saurav Ganguly was urged to intervene by Ravi Shastri. Coach Rahul Dravid of India has also shown his support for Saha.

Saha confirmed the journalist’s identity when testifying before the BCCI committee. Rajeev Shukla, BCCI Vice President, was in charge of the committee. Arun Dhumal, BCCI treasurer, and Prabhtej Bhatia were also present.

Saha, a centrally contracted player, made the accusation in a series of tweets on February 23, prompting the BCCI to launch an investigation.

It all started when the 37-year-old was left out of the Sri Lanka series at home. Saha divulged some confidential dressing room chats with head coach Rahul Dravid in an outburst.

He said that Dravid told him in South Africa that he was no longer a part of the plan.

The wicketkeeper-batter also stated how the national selection committee’s head, Chetan Sharma, informed him that he was no longer being considered. Saha was recently downgraded from Group A to Group C on the BCCI’s central contracts list.
