Ind Vs WI: Team India confines to indoor nets to practice as rain hampers regular schedule

The Team India’s practice session went on a smooth note, but under the indoor nets conditions, after rain hampered the regular schedule on Thursday (IST), according to BCCI.

Team India’s reached Trinidad for the Caribbean tour which is all set to start on 22nd July. The team is going to play a three-match ODI and five-match T20 series, which falls immediately after the England’s tour.

The complete Indian Camp travelled in a charter jet which costed the BCCI’s exchequer Rs.3.5 crore. On Monday, the ODI team flew out of Manchester to the Islands.

According to the information, the team had to practice indoors as they couldn’t complete their outdoor session due to an unexpected rainfall. The information about the development of players practice indoors broke on Thursday after the apex board shared a video where the team was seen undergoing an indoor nets session.

“Gearing up for ODI No.1 against the West Indies. Here’s @ShubmanGill giving a lowdown on #TeamIndia’s first net session in Trinidad,” BCCI said on its official Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, the opening batter, Subham Gill, have shared an information regarding the team’s practice sessions schedule. He was seen in the video posted on the BCCI’s official Twitter account.

He said as we have just come from the UK, we thought that it would be nice to have an (outdoor) practice session.

“But it started raining. So, it’s always better to have a knock in the indoor facilities rather than having no session. It was a good session as we got to do some specific things like playing underarm balls,” said Gill in the video tweeted.

Gill further said the players are looking forward to the chance of playing a good white-ball side like West Indies. “I am feeling great and we all are really excited and really buzzed about these three ODIs. We feel that it would be a good series,” he said.
