Happy Birthday Graeme Smith: Smith, Graeme Craig, was born on February 1st, 1981. He played for South Africa in all formats of cricket and he is currently a South African cricket commentator. Smith, who is Scottish and was born and reared in Johannesburg by Graham and Janet, attended King Edward VII School.

Domestic Career of Graeme Smith

Graeme Smith has participated in cricket matches for various South African sides. His last first-class match with the Cape Cobras was in 2010, but he only made a few appearances for them due to his international commitments. Graeme Smith represented Rajasthan Royals in the first season of the Indian Premier League in 2008.

Graeme Smith’s Wonderful Record of Captaincy

The career of the great Graeme Smith, in my opinion, can’t be summed up in these words. He was the Skipper of the most successful South African cricket team in history and the former opening batsman.

In the history of test cricket, he is the only player to captain his team in the majority of games (108). Graeme Smith has an 8659 test run while serving as captain (the most by any captain in the history of cricket).

He has only served as captain once and has only scored fifteen hundred, all of which have been in winning games. Graeme Smith has won 53 tests, the most of any captain, and is the first South African to play in both the 1000 (12 tests) and 3000 (37 tests) test series.

Top Knocks of Graeme Smith

The Greatest Captain of All-Time

The former South African cricketer who served as the captain of the South African national team from 2003 to 2014. He is regarded as one of the greatest captains in the history of South African cricket, having led the team to several important victories and playing a key role in the team’s rise to prominence in international cricket.
