CPL 2022:Guyana Amazon Warriors bowlers dominated the game against the table toppers Barbados Royals on Sunday to secure two important points in the 2022 edition of Caribbean Premiere League.
The star of the night for Amazon was the legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. The fourth-ranked all-rounder in the ICC rankings, smashed 53 with the bat and took a wicket with ball.
Earlier, Jason Holder played a knock of 42 for Barbados to help his side put a respectable score on board.

Invited to bat, the table-toppers faced a shaky start as they lost their top-3 batters in the first two overs itself.
Keemo Paul was lethal in his opening spell as he removed dangerous Cornwell and Tector in his first over.
Azam Khan and Najibullah then tried to soak the pressure form their side. Both did a 51-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Khan got run-out.
His dismissal again put the Royals on back foot. Najibullah too failed to impress as Odean Smith bowled him on his very first ball.
Holder, who was playing a good knock for his side lost the wicket in process of adding more runs to the scoreboard. However, his 42 runs knock somehow helped his side reach a decent score.
And with small contributions in the end of the innings by Mujeeb (15), Obed McCoy (10), Ramon Simmonds (13*), Barbados Royals set a target of 126 for the Amazon Warriors.
In reply, Warriors too faced a dreary start as they lost Hemraj in the opening over.
Jason Holder provided another breakthrough for the Royals as he dismissed Shai Hope.
But, then Shakib Al Hasan took the charge and shifted the whole momentum towards his side. He smashed 53 off 30. His knock included five fours and three sixes.
At the time he left the field, Warriors were at 97 in 11 overs with 29 more required to win in 60 balls.
The skipper Shimron Hetmyer failed to leave any mark and got out after scoring two boundaries.
Interestingly, Rahmanullah Gurbaaz, who opened the innings for his side was the last one to dismiss in the run-chase. He scored only 22 in the process and left the field when Warriors needed only two to win.
With this win, Guyana Amazon Warriors book their berth for the qualifier 1.
Both teams, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Royals will square off in the qualifier 1 match of the second edition of Caribbean Premiere League on Tuesday at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
